1 For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
2 A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
3 A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
4 A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
5 A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
6 A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
7 A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
8 A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace. - (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)

A lot is said about being on time, doing things in a timely manner, being early or being late. Whatever the context, these phrases have a common fact attached to them. The fact is that there has to be a time frame or set time involved. Earliness or lateness can only be determined by a set time. Some timings in life are not as simple as that to determine, though. There are some events that cannot be put on a schedule or timed but are the result of a personal process instead.

Some things cannot be made to happen, no matter how desperate we are for them. For instance, we cannot make someone else love us, or choose when we are forgiven and accepted by others, or force true friendships to be formed, or choose our relatives. The list could go on! These things are beyond any one person’s effort or desire. So, why do we put ourselves under great pressure to make them happen so we can have the same testimony or lifestyle as others?

We all have a powerful story written by God. The story of each life, unfolding daily and revealing the beauty of God’s love, mercy, grace, wisdom, justice, protection, plans and provision. Each story is uniquely captivating and powerfully inspiring. The God Who wrote the story of your life knows how and when every detail is meant to unfold. There is no early or late with Him. There are just timely moments of manifestation. I like to think that if God had a clock, it would not tell time but it would tell of special moments instead. Everything has its own time and He makes it beautiful in its own time!

Ponder this… Whose time are you keeping? Are you living by God’s timings for your life or are you allowing the pace of other people’s lives to dictate the pace of yours? Are you under pressure to attain certain things in life to meet society’s expectations of you? Whose clock are you watching to tell your time? Which lies are governing certain areas of your life and keeping you chasing after a pipe dream instead of receiving the promise? SELAH!

Do not let human tradition and people’s opinions dictate the times and seasons for what should really be God moments, in your life. Submit your heart to God’s ways of bringing things to pass. You may just discover that you have been going about things the wrong and long way round!

Take your eyes off the clock and calendar concerning such things, and look out for special God moments in your life instead. Discern what He is doing in you and align your heart and actions accordingly. Rest in God and enjoy the journey of the revealing of YOU.

There truly is a time and a season for everything under heaven, and God surely makes each thing beautiful in its own time!

Meditate on these verses of scripture:

Psalm 139:16, Jeremiah 29:11-13, John 16:13-15, Proverbs 3:5-6, Psalm 37:23, Psalm 37:4

Embracing God’s ways in my lane, whilst encouraging you to do the same in yours!
